Polarizing Large-Mode-Area Fibers

Our large mode area polarizing photonic crystal fibers add polarization filtering capability to our range of large mode area fibers. The polarizing performance is achieved via stress rod applied birefringence and a precisely controlled index profile and enables polarized light high power transmission and filtering without nonlinear effects or material damage.
The fibers can be spliced to standard PM fibers or directly connectorized with standard FC/PC connectors or SMA 905 high power connectors.

The unique combination of stress-induced birefringence and our LMA structure gives the widest polarization bandwidth in the industry where single polarization guiding over several hundred nanometers is routinely achieved (see example below).

Broadband polarizing fiber

The fibers will act as a traditional large mode area PM fiber for wavelengths longer than the polarizing cut-off.

The fibers are also available as patch-cords with hermetically sealed ends and FC/PC connectors. For a connectorized fiber, we can customize the amount of fiber end beam expansion.
